History
The founder of ModKit (Steven) has been a video game enthusiast since the early 1990's. While Steven was growing up playing on his first video game console (Nintendo) shooting ducks (with his orange/grey light gun by Nintendo) and jumping down green pipes (Mario) since age 8. His parents spent a fortune purchasing several different game console platforms (Nintendo, Super Ninteno, Sega, Playstation, Playstation2), hundreds of video games and tons of accessories.

Formed in 2002
Steven soon realized the video game market would get bigger and immediately started trading video game consoles and accessories in 2002. Steven relocated the business to Shenzhen, China in 2004 to expand his wholesaling in the video game market by buying from the source, the video game factories.

First came the language barriar, then came the white-man pricings, then came the low quality issues. Steven wasn't sure if he was able to survive in this market with such inferior products. Steven searched for superior suppliers with higher quality and low prices to continue suppyling wholesale trades. In countless efforts to have video game manufacturers to make appealing designs, modern features, and higher quality, Steven offered several product ideas and advice to several factory bosses that would of ultimately benefit the retail end consumer. The factory bosses dismissed all opinions or ideas Steven provided and continued developing cheap looking, inferior quality and old technology to their products.

Soon after the frustration, Steven became aware he was in China and could manufacture the product just as easy as any other factory. With this in mind, Steven immediately started planning on the latest product he felt was most popular to the market, Nintendo Wii. Steven used old and new contacts to start learning more in depth about the entire manufacturing process. Little did Steven know, he already knew most of what was to be learned from the experience he has made from visiting hundreds of factories in the past.

To manufacture a product, you first need to know what product you want to manufacture, what will be included and how to go about manufacturing that product. For ModKit, we knew the most important process was the mould manufacturer. Steven partnered together with a mould factory who owns their own factory grounds, hundreds of machines, employees and technology. From huge CNC Machines, to EDM Machines, to Wire Cutting Machines, Drilling Machines, Plastic Injection Machines and more. This factory can do everything from designing CAD files, mould manufacture, plastic injection, assembly, quality control, warehouse and shipment.

A Dedication to Quality
Quality and the meaning of the word quality will depend on the person and where they're from. Steven, the founder of ModKit is an American with USA standards. One thing Steven learned was it didn't cost much more to manufacture a quality product, compared to an inferior quality product. Everything depends on the technology behind the engineering aspect and the attitude of the people developing the product (usually the boss). Most manufacturers accept Cha Bu Duo (almost, but not exact) quality. ModKit believes in taking the extra step to overall satisfy everyones quality in standards.
